Fabio Capello and Montenegro Draw

Manager Capello believes more time should have been added on at the end of his side’s 0-0 draw at home to Montenegro. The Three Lions failed to score for the first time at the new Wembley Stadium since it was opened in 2007, picking up just a point against the surprise package of Group G. Speaking to ITV Sport, Capello said three minutes of stoppage time was not enough given the five substitutions in the match, and the delays due to injuries.
“I don’t like to speak about the referees, I never speak about the referees. The only one thing is five substitutions – twice the physio went on the pitch but three minutes [added time] isn’t enough,” he said.
Capello also thought his side should have scored against a team that was “really difficult to beat”.
The Italian added: “We created four or five chances, the ‘keeper saved them every time but it’s not easy to play against a team like this.
“They defended well and pressed a lot, [they were] really close to their box. We created five chances to score a goal and they shot once at goal and hit the bar.
“It was not an easy game [against] a team that was really difficult to beat.” goal.com
